How does the GoMobileCard service work?
It's pretty simple. You setup your own GoMobileCard. Put whatever information you’d like to include in the card. Save it. When you want to give out a GoMobileCard, just tell someone to send a text message to “32516” with your keyword “BOB” (use your own GoMobileCard name instead of BOB). When the person sends the text message, he or she will get a text message back with your GoMobileCard.

I am having trouble setting up my GoMobileCard. It says my chosen GoMobileCard name is not available. What should I do?
Pick a different GoMobileCard name. Every GoMobileCard name has to be unique. Think of Gmail or Hotmail as an example. Each email address has to be unique - the same is true here for GoMobileCard names. But don’t worry if you don’t get the exact GoMobileCard name you want. We are working on enhancements to the system that will allow you to secure your Gmail, Yahoo or Hotmail email name as your GoMobileCard name. We’ll post an announcement on the site when these enhancements are ready. In the meantime, find a GoMobileCard name you like and start using the system.

Why is my GoMobileCard limited to 160 characters?
Because the carriers limit text messages to 160 characters. If a message is longer than 160 characters, the carriers break it into two (or more) messages. Like you - and the 4 billion people in the world sending and receiving text messages - we’re stuck with this limitation.

What am I paying for?
Unfortunately, unlike email, text messages do cost money to send and receive across all of the mobile/cell phone networks. We run a mobile marketing company that, among other things, handles millions of messages every month for our largest customers. As a result, we get pretty favorable pricing from the text messaging aggregators. The $9.99 monthly covers all incoming requests for your mobile business card and all of your outgoing auto-responses (up to 250 per month). We’re taking advantage of this pricing to make this service available to you and everyone else that signs up. We think it is a good thing overall to be doing this for all sorts of reasons - including the green reason of eliminating paper business cards - and we think it is a great way to introduce people to a simple way to use mobile messaging in business.

Can I include pictures, video or audio?
Not in the message, but - and we have some subscribers already doing this - you can include a link in your GoMobileCard to a picture, video or audio - or to anything else you want to link to. Some subscribers include links to YouTube videos; others include links to their websites. Experiment. Have a little fun. It's as easy as it sounds.

My GoMobileCard looks funny on my phone. What should I do?
Edit it here in the system. Use the simulator as you edit. The simulator won’t be 100% accurate for every phone, but it will help. Keep trying it on your phone until you like it. You can change your GoMobileCard as often as you like.

Why do you need my email address?
Mainly to notify you if for some reason we can’t process your GoMobileCard. We may send you messages in the future about new features or the availability of a new set of GoMobileCard names, but we’ll get your consent before we send you anything.

Why do you need my cell phone number?
Because we are sending text messages on your behalf. It's not entirely clear , but the carriers generally require us to have this information if we are going to send messages such as these. But we won’t call you. Ever. And we won’t give your number out either. You can decide whether to include it in your GoMobileCard.

What should I do if I don’t see an answer to my problem here?
